چکیده
The macrocyclic host cucurbit[7]uril exhibits highly specific inhibitory effects on the activity of proteases, which can be analyzed by a host-substrate complexation model.

Defection-selective solubilization and chemically-responsive solubility switching of single-walled carbon nanotubes with cucurbit[7]uril.
Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were suspended in aqueous media with cucurbit[7]uril (CB7), while SWCNTs were insoluble with cucurbit[5]uril (CB5). Moreover, defection-selective solubilization of SWCNTs with CB7 was demonstrated.
متن کاملCucurbit[7]uril assisted ultraviolet to visible fluorescence switch of a heart medicine.
Host-guest interactions between cucurbit[7]uril (CB7) and a cardiotonic drug, milrinone, have been explored using steady state and pico-second time-resolved techniques. A novel fluorescence switch from ultraviolet (UV) to visible (cyan) is observed as a consequence of upward pKa shift of the drug inside the nano-cavity of cucurbit[7]uril.
متن کاملPronounced pH effects on the kinetics of cucurbit[7]uril-based pseudorotaxane formation and dissociation.
Deprotonation of the two terminal COOH groups on a 4,4'-bipyridinium linear derivative leads to a pronounced slow down on the kinetics of threading and unthreading by the cucurbit[7]uril host.
متن کاملLight and cucurbit[7]uril complexation dual-responsiveness of a cyanostilbene-based self-assembled system.
A cyanostilbene-based amphiphile (CS) was synthesized, which could self-assemble into non-emissive bilayer vesicles and ultra-thin ribbons. Cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) could form an inclusion complex with CS with a significant hypochrome effect, giving a strong blue emission from non-emissive species. CS underwent photoisomerization induced by light irradiation, which allowed the membrane contracti...
متن کاملSequence recognition and self-sorting of a dipeptide by cucurbit[6]uril and cucurbit[7]uril.
Cucurbit[7]uril forms very strong complex with zwitterionic dipeptide Phe-Gly with affinity exceeding 10(7) M(-1) and effectively recognizes peptide sequence of Phe-Gly over Gly-Phe as well as Tyr-Gly over Gly-Tyr and Trp-Gly over Gly-Trp with relative affinities of 23 000, 18 000 and 2000, respectively.
